Why a post failed, expired ๐• connections, missing credits.

Common things that go wrong, and how to fix them. If your issue isn't listed, email support@futurepost.ai.

My tweet failed to post

Open Drafts and look for posts in the Failed tab. Each failed post shows the reason inline. The most common ones:

  • Duplicate content. ๐• rejects identical posts within a short window. Tweak the wording and reschedule.
  • ๐• authentication expired. Reconnect your ๐• account under Settings โ†’ Teams โ†’ Accounts.
  • Rate limit hit. ๐• temporarily throttled posts from this account. We retry automatically with backoff; reschedule manually if needed.
  • Media too large or wrong format. Images must be under 5 MB and JPG/PNG/GIF/WEBP. Re-upload and try again.

"Your ๐• connection has expired"

๐• OAuth tokens occasionally expire and need to be refreshed by the user. Open Settings โ†’ Teams โ†’ Accounts and click Reconnect next to the affected account. Once reconnected, queued posts resume automatically on their next attempt.

I'm on Pro but I can't see Analytics / can't add ๐• accounts

First, refresh your browser tab. Plan changes apply on the next page load. If it still doesn't show up, check the Billing panel: does the status say Active? If it says Past due or Inactive, your payment may have failed.

My credits ran out mid-month

Two options:

  1. Upgrade. Instant credit boost. Pro โ†’ Team is the biggest jump (700 โ†’ 1,400 credits).
  2. Turn off the hard cap. Overages bill at $0.02/credit on your next invoice. Read more.

I edited a scheduled post but the old version went out

Edits to scheduled posts save immediately, but if the post is within a few minutes of publishing, the worker may have already loaded the old version into memory. We have safety checks now that re-verify content right before posting; if you see this happen, please email us with the affected post's URL.

The browser extension stopped working

  • Make sure you're signed into the FuturePost web app in the same browser.
  • Restart your browser (extension state can get stale after long sessions).
  • If the extension keeps showing "rate limited", you've hit ๐•'s per-15-min ceiling. Wait at least 15 minutes before trying again.
  • If unfollows fail repeatedly with non-rate-limit errors, your ๐• session may have expired. Refresh ๐• and sign in again.

I see "Invalid state parameter" trying to connect an account

This is a stale-cookie issue. Try:

  1. Clear cookies for both futurepost.ai and api.futurepost.ai.
  2. Refresh the page.
  3. Try connecting again.

Once a fresh connect succeeds, the old cookies are cleared automatically and the issue won't recur.

Stripe checkout opens then bounces back without subscribing

Usually a payment method declined silently. Check your card issuer notifications. If everything looks fine on Stripe's end, email support@futurepost.ai with a screenshot.
