Getting started

Sign up, connect your ๐• account, and post your first tweet.

FuturePost is a scheduling and growth toolkit for ๐•. You write your posts in one place, queue them up, and we publish them at the time you pick. This guide gets you from sign-up to your first scheduled post in five minutes.

1. Create your account

Click Sign in with ๐• on the landing page or in the navbar. We use ๐•'s official OAuth flow, you'll be redirected to x.com to approve FuturePost, then sent right back to your dashboard. We never see your ๐• password.

The first ๐• account you sign in with becomes your Personal Team and your primary connected account. You don't need to do anything extra to start posting from it.

2. Find your way around the dashboard

  • Drafts: your library of saved posts, scheduled posts, and posts that have already gone out. This is where you spend most of your time.
  • Schedule: calendar view of everything queued.
  • Gallery: uploaded images and videos you can drop into posts. Starter plan and above.
  • Automations: recurring posts that rotate through a set of drafts on a schedule.
  • Analytics: follower growth and post performance over time.
  • Extension: installer page for our ๐• browser tools (free for every account).
  • Settings: billing, notifications, time zone, connected accounts, team members.

3. Compose your first post

  1. Open Drafts and click the + button.
  2. Type your post in the composer. Character count is shown at the bottom.
  3. (Optional) Drag in images, add a poll, or paste another tweet's URL to make it a quote tweet.
  4. When you're ready, hit Schedule Post and pick a time, or hit Publish to send it out right now.
Saving without picking a time keeps the post as a draft , drafts don't cost credits and stay in your library indefinitely.

4. Understand credits

Every scheduled or published post uses credits. A regular post is 1 credit, a post containing a link is 15 credits (links cost us about 13ร— more on ๐•'s API, so we pass that through). Your plan includes a monthly credit allowance.

The Free plan includes 15 credits and doesn't allow link posts. Paid plans unlock link posts, threads, polls, and bigger allowances. See How credits work for the full breakdown.

5. Install the browser extension (optional)

The ๐• browser extension adds a mass-unfollow tool right inside x.com, useful for cleaning up inactive accounts you follow. It's free for every FuturePost account, regardless of plan. See ๐• browser extension for the install steps.
